A new page of history has just been written for French Canadian culture:
Gilles Desjardins, President & Founder of Brigil, offers a historical donation to La Nouvelle Scène.
October 14, 2015 will be remembered for La Nouvelle Scène and the entire French Canadian community. Entrepreneur and philanthropist Gilles Desjardins has just officially announced a donation of one million dollars to the cultural organization. This major contribution is the largest donation to a French Canadian cultural organization outside of Quebec. The community of the National Capital Region is infinitely pleased and enthusiastically welcomes this exceptional generosity.
For his 50th birthday and the 30th anniversary of Brigil, Mr. Desjardins, who was born as a Franco-Ontarian, is pleased to offer this gift to his local community. This donation will support the construction project of La Nouvelle Scène.

La Nouvelle Scène, French-language theater center in Ottawa-Carleton open its doors in January 2016. With a new international architectural, the building will be twice the size of the existing building to help French artists have place to call home that projects a modern image in the heart of the National Capital Region.
