Brigil and the City of Gatineau begins a positive dialog on the quartier du Musée's future

GATINEAU, MAY 29TH 2018 – Brigil's president Gilles Desjardins is pleased to have met the City of Gatineau urban planning representatives to start a positive dialog on the quartier du Musée's future.

Brigil had the opportunity on Tuesday to speak about the possibility for Gatineau to have iconic buildings overlooking the Outaouais River, in front of the Canadian Museum of History. Mr Desjardins also reiterated his support for an innovative, modern and flexible heritage citation in that important area that has been neglected for too long.

"I'm more than happy because I have been able to talk about my project and my vision for the quartier du Musée. This meeting with city's experts was more than constructive and the results are beyond my expectations", declared Mr Desjardins after the meeting.

Brigil's president was accompanied by Steve Potvin, urban planning, urban design and landscape architecture provincial director at Stantec.

Heritage expert presented to the city's professionals a list of examples of heritage neighbourhoods where historical buildings and modern and iconic constructions go together perfectly well.

"Heritage concept is not static. It evolves because neighbourhoods are constantly evolving and renewing. I'm convinced that the kind of project Brigil wants to offer would upgrade and respect the quartier du Musée, while creating an inviting and dynamic place to meet in Gatineau", said Mr Potvin.

Steve Potvin is a member of a team of urban planning and social acceptability experts that Brigil set up for the Place des Peuples project. A gift, with an elevated observatory to discover Gatineau's best, that Brigil wants to share with residents and tourists
